Frequently asked questions

Do I have to inject myself?
No. All injections are administered by our licensed clinical staff at your weekly in-clinic appointment at our Porter Ranch location. You do not need to learn to self-inject. This is one of the core advantages of the Artemis in-clinic model — every dose is correctly administered by a professional who also monitors your response.
What does the treatment timeline look like?
Treatment starts with a short intake form. Our licensed medical providers review your answers and medical history to determine whether an in-clinic evaluation is the right next step. If it is, we’ll reach out to book your first appointment at our Porter Ranch clinic, where your provider completes the evaluation and determines whether GLP-1 treatment is appropriate for you.

At that first visit, a provider goes over your plan, answers your questions, and your first injection is administered on-site the same day. From there, you come in once a week for your injection, a short visit, usually in and out.

Your dose starts low and steps up gradually over the following weeks, at a pace your provider sets based on how you’re tolerating the medication. This gradual titration is standard for GLP-1 treatment and helps limit side effects. Once you reach a dose that works for you, you stay there and keep coming in weekly, with ongoing check-ins from our team.

Everyone’s timeline is different. How quickly you titrate, how long you stay on treatment, and what your results look like depend on your individual clinical picture. Nothing is guaranteed, and your provider will adjust as you go.

Can I cancel or pause treatment?
Yes. There’s no contract, no termination fee, and no obligation to continue.

Pausing is also fine, and common: travel, surgery, a change in circumstances. Do talk to your provider first. Depending on how long you’re off treatment, you may need to restart at a lower dose and titrate back up rather than resuming where you left off. That’s a clinical judgment, and it’s one of the reasons we’d rather you tell us than simply stop showing up.

If you’ve prepaid a month of weekly visits, you keep access to the remaining visits in that cycle. We don’t refund doses already administered.

Will I regain weight when I stop?
This is the right question to ask, and we’d rather answer it honestly up front.

GLP-1 medications work while you’re taking them. They act on appetite regulation and how quickly your stomach empties, and those effects fade once the medication is out of your system. Appetite typically returns to where it was before, and many people do regain some weight after stopping. Weight regain after discontinuing GLP-1 treatment is well documented, and it isn’t a personal failure. It’s how the medication works.

That’s why we don’t treat this as a short course with a finish line. Some patients stay on a maintenance dose long-term, under ongoing clinical supervision. Others taper off with a plan in place. Either way, the work we do alongside the injections, including nutrition, protein intake, resistance training, and sleep, is what carries results forward.

If and when you decide to stop, we’ll build that plan with you rather than letting you fall off a cliff. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
